Le Dunkerquois est marqué par une forte densité de sites SEVESO et plus encore par une imbrication des zones industrielles et des zones résidentielles. Ce faisant, il constitue un exemple pertinent de compréhension de modes de gestion et de gouvernance de ces risques, tant à l’échelle des habitants dans leur quotidien qu’à celle des territoires, via les dispositifs participatifs de concertation et de gestion des risques. Prenant appui sur les différents travaux développés depuis 2006 par le collectif Irénée Zwarterook, il s’est agi de les relire et de les mettre en perspective au prisme du paradigme de la transaction sociale pour montrer qu’existent deux niveaux de compromis pratiques - sphère privée et sphère publique - qui permettent d’envisager le vivre au quotidien avec les risques industriels. Managing industrial risks and pollution in the region of Dunkirk: a double transactional scale. Dunkirk area is characterized by a high density of SEVESO sites and more over by an interweaving of the industrial parks and the residential zones. Also, it constitutes a relevant example for the understanding of management and governance of these risks, both by the inhabitants in their everyday life and by the territory through participatory processes and public risk management. Based on the various works developed since 2006 by the Irénée Zwarterook group, this article is reviewing them mobilizing the paradigm of social transaction. It show that exist two levels of practical compromises - intimacy and public space - which allow to intend the everyday life surrounded by industrial risks.
