The correlation between the bulk modulus B and the atomic properties of binaryintermetallics (element molar volume and element valence electron density) is studied usingliterature data of 240 binary intermetallic compounds and alloys. It is found that the bulkmodulus of binary systems may be predicted (with an average error limit of ±11%) by B =nws2V, where nws and V are estimates from elemental valence electron density and molarvolume, respectively.
