Abstract
  • We report the synthesis and characterization of a mesoporous zirconium oxophosphatewith a cubic Ia3̄d symmetry. The ordered porous material was obtained by supramolecularself-assembly of a specific cationic surfactant combined with zirconium sulfate as inorganicprecursor. A systematic investigation of the effects of initial reagent ratios and synthesisprocedures is reported. Both the as-prepared and the template-free cubic porous zirconiumoxophosphate materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction and transmission electronmicroscopy. The template-free material was additionally characterized by N2 sorption. Theremoval of the template was studied by thermogravimetry/differential thermal analysiscoupled with mass spectrometry and in situ high-temperature XRD. In addition, pyridinesorption-FTIR experiments were performed to evaluate the Lewis and Brønsted acidity.
