Two series of tetradental cis-enaminoketone Ni(II) complexes with a triangular mesogenic core stiffened by external ethylene or methylene units have been synthesized. One of the obtained compounds reveals a unique phase sequence: Iso−Colh−Isore.
Two series of tetradental cis-enaminoketone Ni(II) complexes with triangular mesogeniccore stiffened by external ethylene or methylene units have been synthesized. One of theobtained compounds reveals a unique phase sequence: Iso−Colh−Isore. The enormously stableColh phase has been detected for metallomesogens having both an external methylene unitand inner hydrogen bonds. Also a new synthetic way to receive 5,6-dialkoxy-7-hydroxyindanone has been presented.
