Abstract
| - The cone end of carbon nanohorns is removed with a powerful but mild oxidative treatment avoiding shortening of nanohorns and formation of any type of impurities. Functionalization of carboxylic acid terminated nanohorns, with amines, alcohols, and thiols induced solubility enhancement. Intramolecular electron transfer was probed on a soluble functionalized nanohorn−pyrene hybrid material.
