| - An alternative process to separate the isomeric mixture of frutose and glucose is presented. Alaboratory study of a two-column, selectivity inverted, direct-mode parametric pump is reported. An anionic resin in carbonate form and a cationic resin in calcium form are used as adsorbentsfor the columns. The experimental results show that it is possible to simultaneously obtainseparation and concentration with this system. A kinetic model assuming linear equilibrium, intraparticle pore diffusion, and axial dispersion is proposed and solved. The model solutionsare compared with experimental results, and the comparisons indicate good prediction capabilities.
