Abstract
  • A new phenyltin tungstosilicate derivative,[(PhSnOH2)2(γ-SiW10O36)2]10-(1), has been prepared by reaction ofphenyltin trichloride withK8[γ-SiW10O36]·xH2O.The new heteropolyanion was characterized by elementalanalysis,infrared spectroscopy, multinuclear NMR, and X-ray crystallography.The crystals ofCs9H[(PhSnOH2)2(γ-SiW10O36)2]·16H2O(Cs salt of 1) are triclinic, space groupP1̄, with lattice constants a =12.401(3) Å, b =13.832(3) Å, c = 16.313(3) Å, α =96.17(2)°, β = 109.73(2)°, γ = 97.13(2)°,V = 2579.9(10) Å, and Z =1.Anion 1 has a structure of virtualC2h symmetry with twophenyltin groups sandwiched between twoγ-SiW10groups. Such a structure is different from all previously reportedpolytungstates derived from[γ-SiW10O36]8-lacunary anions.
