Abstract
Reaction ofdiphenylbis((methylthio)methyl)borate(Ph2Bt-) withNi(BF4)2·6H2O yielded squareplanar [Ph2Bt]2Ni, 1.Chemical reduction of 1 with Na/Hg produced a specieswhich represents a uniquely stable NiIS4chromophore. X-band EPR data: g1 =2.27, g2 = 2.11, g3 =2.03.
