Abstract
  • Pd2(dppm)2X2complexes (X = Cl, Br) react with NaBH4 to form[Pd4(dppm)4(μ4-H)2]X2as characterized from chemical analysis, FAB mass, 1H and31P NMR, and UV−vis spectroscopy, polarography, andconductivity measurements. The dicationic cluster can bereversibly electrochemically catalysis reduced to“Pd4(dppm)4(H)2”,which is stable at the electrochemical timescale.
