Abstract
  • {(BuSn)12O14(OH)6}(O2PPh2)2has been prepared from{(BuSn)12O14(OH)6}(OH)2and diphenylphosphinic acid.Its full characterization by solution 1D (1H,13C, 119Sn, and 31P) and 2Dgradient-assisted (1H−119SnHMQC,1H−13C HMQC, 1H ROESY, and31P−1H HOESY) NMR is reported and shows thatin CD2Cl2 orCD2Cl2/DMSO-d6 (1/1) the charge compensatingdiphenylphosphinate anions remain close to the “cage-poles” ofthemacrocations. A model for the geometry of the interaction isproposed. 119Sn and 31P MAS NMRcharacterizationof the title compound is also reported.
  • 1D and 2Dgradient-assisted solution multinuclear NMR has been used to fullycharacterized the oxo-hydroxo butyltin cluster{(BuSn)12O14(OH)6}(O2PPh2)2and to probe the interactions which take place in solution between thecharge compensating diphenylphosphinate anions and the macrocation{(BuSn)12O14(OH)6}2+.119Sn and 31P MAS NMR have also beenused to characterize the title compound in the solidstate.
