Abstract
  • A nanosized octadecanuclear aggregate, [{NiL2}12{Nb(CN)8}6(H2O)6], or a 1-D coordination polymer, [{MnL1}2{Nb(CN)8}(H2O)]∞, was selectively obtained by self-assembly between {Nb(CN)8}4- and {ML}2+ complexes (L represents a macrocyclic ligand occupying the equatorial sites). Their crystal structures and magnetic behaviors are described.
  • A nanosized octadecaheteronuclear aggregate, [{NiL2}12{Nb(CN)8}6(H2O)6], and a 1-D coordination polymer, [{MnL1}2{Nb(CN)8}(H2O)]∞, have been obtained by self-assembly between theoctacyanometalate {Nb(CN)8}4- and {ML}2+ complexes. Thedimensionality of the supramolecular architectures was found tobe controlled by the {ML} module for which the equatorialcoordination sites are blocked by a macrocyclic ligand. The crystalstructures and magnetic properties for both the compounds aredescribed.
