Abstract
| - A novel dithiolene ligand appended with a 4,5-diazafluorene moietyhas been synthesized and used for the preparation of discretenickel and mercury complexes and a one-dimensional polymer inthe presence of sodium cations.
- A new ligand L based on the combination of the dithiolate and 4,5-diazafluorene moieties behaving as anionic and neutral chelates, respectively, was prepared and shown to form discrete NiII- and HgII [ML2]2--type complexes through the coordination of the metals by the dianionic chelate site. The extension of the mercury complex into a one-dimensional network was achieved through the noncoordinated nitrogen atoms of the diazafluorene group using sodium cations.
