Abstract
  • As a continuation in a series about chemical information instruction in academe, this article describes theresults of the 1993 survey of information instruction activities in 390 United States chemistry departmentsconducted by the American Chemical Society (ACS) Division of Chemical Information's EducationCommittee and makes comparisons with the previous 1984 survey. Current trends, especially in rapidlychanging chemical resources, are indentified and resulting implications for information instruction programsare discussed. Ways of overcoming increasing costs of information resources are offered, as well assuggestions for involving faculty and librarians as active supporters and participants in such programs.
