Abstract
| - The antimalarial activities of ferrocenic compounds mimickingchloroquine and active uponchloroquine-resistant strains of Plasmodium falciparum wereevaluated. Four 7-chloro-4-[[[2-[(N,N-substitutedamino)methyl]ferrocenyl]methyl]amino]quinolinederivatives have beensynthesized; one of them, 1a, showed high potentantimalarial activity in vivo on mice infectedwith Plasmodium berghei N. and Plasmodiumyoelii NS. and was 22 times more potentagainstschizontocides than chloroquine in vitro against a drug-resistantstrain of P.falciparum.
