| Abstract
| - Two new triterpenoid saponins, transsylvanosides G and H, wereisolated from Cephalariatranssylvanica and their structures established as3-O-[β-d-glucopyranosyl(1→4)-β-d-glucopyranosyl(1→3)-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)-β-d-xylopyranosyl]hederagenin28-O-[β-d-glucopyranosyl(1→4)-β-d-xylopyranosyl] ester (1)and3-O-[β-d-xylopyranosyl(1→3)-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)-β-d-xylopyranosyl]hederagenin(2), respectively. A novel prosapogenin (3)was obtainedon the alkaline hydrolysis of 1 and its structure defined as3-O-[β-d-glucopyranosyl(1→4)-β-d-glucopyranosyl(1→3)-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)-β-d-xylopyranosyl]hederagenin.The structures of compounds 1−3 were established byspectral and chemical methods.
