| Abstract
| - A new capsiate-like substance, named nordihydrocapsiate (1), has been isolated from the fruits of anonpungent cultivar, CH-19 Sweet, of pepper (Capsicum annuum). The structure of 1 was determined tobe 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzyl 7-methyloctanoate by spectroscopic methods.
