Abstract
  • Malayenolides A−D (1−4), four new briarane diterpenes, were isolated from the sea pen Veretillummalayense collected in Indonesia. The new diterpenes possess benzoate and senecioate substitutents, both of which are rare among marine natural products. The structures of the new compounds weredetermined from spectral data. Compounds 1−4 are toxic to brine shrimp.
