| Abstract
| - Four new triterpenoid saponins, chionaeosides A-D (1-4) were isolated from the roots of Paronychia chionaea. On the basis of their spectroscopic data, the structures of the new saponins were established as 3-ο-α-l-arabinopyranosylgypsogenic acid 28-O-β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1→3)-β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-glucopyranoside (1), 3-O-α-l-arabinopyranosylgypsogenic acid 28-O-β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-glucopyranoside (2), 3-O-α-l-arabinopyranosylgypsogenic acid 28-O-β-d-glucopyranoside (3), and 3-O-α-l-arabinopyranosylgypsogenic acid (4).
