Abstract	The reagent N-isopropylidene-N‘-2-nitrobenzenesulfonyl hydrazine (IPNBSH) is used in the reduction of alcohols viathe loss of dinitrogen from transiently formed monoalkyldiazene intermediates accessed by sequential Mitsunobudisplacement, hydrolysis, and fragmentation under mildreaction conditions.
