Abstract
  • The ferroin-catalyzed Belousov−Zhabotinsky (BZ) reaction wasfound to exhibit enhanced photosensitivityin the water-in-oil microemulsion of anionic surfactant aerosol OT(AOT). Some novel photoresponses werefound in this system. In addition, it was found that illuminationalways resulted in the reduction of thecatalyst in the micelle BZ system. On the basis of the results forthe BZ subsystem without malonic acid, thereduction of photoexcited ferriin by AOT was found to be important,together with an additional photoreductionof catalyst with malonic acid in the case of the full BZ system in theAOT microemulsion.
