Solid-state NMR experiments have been performed to determine the nature of the molecular motion of C60in cocrystals of C60/p-bromocalix[4]arene propyl ether. Throughout the temperature range of this work (roomtemperature to 130 K), C60 undergoes fast isotropic reorientation. The C60 molecular dynamics in the cocrystalare similar to that found in the fcc crystal structure of pure C60. The activation energy of C60 reorientation inthe cocrystal is 5.6 ± 0.2 kJ/mol, and the rotational diffusion constant of C60 is 11 × 109 s-1 at roomtemperature.
