Abstract
  • Amorphous molybdenum oxosulfide precipitation in the acetone−water mixed solvent leads to the variety oforiginal morphologies, including entangled tubules, hollow spheres, and sponge-like fractal structures. Thedominating type of morphology obtained can be controlled by the variations of the amount of differentelectrolytes present in the reaction mixture, such as NH4SCN, KCl, (NH4)2SO4, or (NH2OH2)HSO4. Thequalitative analogy between the observed behavior and vesiculation of lipids is discussed.
