Abstract
| - In Ag-loaded NaA zeolite the silver hydroxymethyl radical(Ag•CH2OD)+ wasstabilized and studied withelectron spin echo envelope modulation (ESEEM) spectroscopy.Careful control of the CH3ODconcentrationenabled the measurement of ESEEM spectra from which the hyperfine andquadrupole parameters of theintramolecular hydroxyl deuterium nucleus could be estimated. Theisotropic hyperfine splitting constant,Aiso, is equal to +2.9 MHz, theelectron−deuteron dipolar coupling parameter T(T =geβegDβD/(hr3))is equalto +1.4 MHz, and the quadrupole parameter P (P= e2qQ/(4h)) is equal to±0.12 MHz. These data arecompared to listed data for the•CH2OH radical. Thedifferences can be interpreted in terms of electronic, electrostatic, and matrix effects.
