Abstract
  • The reaction of (Cp*Al)4 with organicazidesoffers an alternative synthetic route for the formation ofiminoalanes with a low degree of oligomerization.Thismethod was used to prepare the dimeric iminoalanes(Cp*AlNSiiPr3)2(1), (Cp*AlNSiPh3)2 (2),and (Cp*AlNSitBu3)2 (3). Thecrystal structure of 3 was determinedby X-ray diffraction study.
  • The reaction of(Cp*Al)4 with organic azides leads to the formation ofiminoalanes with a low degree of oligomerization, for example(Cp*AlNSitBu3)2, which is thethird structurally characterized dimericiminoalane.
