Abstract
  • ExcessMe3SiC⋮CSiMe3 reacts withRu(H)2(CO)L2 (L =PtBu2Me) to give(Me3Si)HCCH(SiMe3) and theillustrated compound, which has a square-pyramidal structure with anunusually small Si−Ru−C(sp) angle. This represents SiC bondcleavage under unusually mildconditions.
  • Me3SiC⋮CSiMe3 reacts withRu(H)2(CO)L2(L = PtBu2Me) to giveRu(SiMe3)(CCSiMe3)(CO)L2,characterized by solution spectroscopic and single-crystalX-ray diffraction methods. The molecule is square-pyramidal with an apical SiMe3 group and CO andCCSiMe3 in mutually trans basal sites.
