A facilitated dπ−pπ* transition was observedin a boron−ruthenium conjugated system prepared byhydroboration polymerization between mesitylboraneand a ruthenium−phosphine complex containing tetrayne. In the UV−vis absorption spectrum of the obtained polymer, the absorption maximum of the MLCTband (dπ−pπ* transition) was highly bathochromicallyshifted by 141 nm relative to that of the tetraynemonomer.
