Abstract
| - [RuCp(PPh2NHPh)(CH3CN)2]PF6 reacts with HC⋮CR (R = Ph, n-Bu, CH2Ph), 1,6-heptadiyne, and 1,7-octadiyne to afford η4-butadiene amido complexes [RuCp(η4-C4H3(R)2-PPh2-κ1-(N)-NPh)]PF6, [RuCp(η4-C4H3(CH2)3-PPh2-κ1-(N)-NPh)]PF6, and [RuCp(η4-C4H3(CH2)4-PPh2-κ1-(N)-NPh)]PF6 involving migration and N−H activation of the PPh2NHPh ligand.
- This is a continuation of our work on thereactions of [RuCp(PR3)(CH3CN)2]PF6 with terminalalkynes and diynes. Here now we use, instead of PR3,the phosphino-amine ligand PPh2NHPh. The reactionpattern is found to be similar except that the N−H bondof the phosphine ligand is activated and not a C−H bondas before. Thus the reaction of [RuCp(PPh2NHPh)(CH3CN)2]PF6 with HC⋮CR (R = Ph, n-Bu, CH2Ph), 1,6-heptadiyne, and 1,7-octadiyne results in the formationof the η4-butadiene amido complexes [RuCp(η4-C4H3(R)2-PPh2-κ1-(N)-NPh)]PF6, [RuCp(η4-C4H3(CH2)3-PPh2-κ1-(N)-NPh)]PF6, and [RuCp(η4-C4H3(CH2)4-PPh2-κ1-(N)-NPh)]PF6 in good yields.
