Abstract
| - The solid-state structure and NMR parameters of the monomeric heavier carbene analogue [Pb{Ph2PC(H)Py}{N(SiMe3)2}] (1), obtained via deprotonation of the phosphane Ph2P(CH2Py) with [Pb{N(SiMe3)2}2], are discussed. The [Ph2PC(H)Py]- anion in 1 should be regarded as an amide rather than a carbanion or phosphanide.
