Abstract
| - A novel Ru(II) complex containing an electron-poor, highly fluorinated PCPArF pincer ligandhas been synthesized in good yield via a transcyclometalation reaction. The complex hasbeen fully characterized by elemental analysis, 1D and 2D NMR techniques, UV−visspectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry. Single-crystal X-ray structural analysis and DFTcalculations were performed. The structural features and electronic properties of theremarkably stable PCPArF−Ru(II) complex 4 have been investigated and show unanticipateddifferences compared to its protio analogue.
- A novel ruthenium(II) complex 4 containing a highly fluorinated PCP ligand has been synthesized via a transcyclometalation reaction. Crystallographic, electrochemical, and spectroscopic data and DFT calculations of the prepared PCPArF−Ru(II) complex indicate that the electron-poor fluoroaryl PCP pincer ligand induces significant modifications in both its structural features and electronic properties in comparison with its protio analogue.
