Abstract
| - The acid-catalyzed reaction of cobalt-activated 1,1‘-bispropargylferrocene with dithiols or alcohols leads to the formation of a novel range of alkynylferrocenophanes of general formula [1,1‘-Fc{(Co2(CO)6)2(μ:η2-μ:η2-C⋮CCMe2ZCMe2C⋮C)}] {Z = (thia)ether linker} in high yield. The new complexes have been fully characterized, and their electrochemical behavior has been explored.
- The acid-catalyzed reaction of [1,1‘-Fc{Co2(CO)6(μ:η2-C⋮CCMe2OH)}2] (Fc = Fe(η5-C5H4)2)with a variety of dinucleophiles led to the formation in excellent yields of a novel range offerrocenophanes containing a variety of donor atoms. The crystal structures of four of thesenew compounds are reported as well as the results of electrochemical studies of the newcomplexes.
