Abstract
  • The preparation and X-ray structures of Rh(I), Cu(I), and Ag(I) complexes bearing 2,6-bis(2-phosphaethenyl)pyridine (PNP) as a low-coordinated phosphorus ligand are reported. The PNP ligand adopts a κ3(P,N,P) or κ2(P,P) coordination mode, depending on the central metals. The rhodium complex catalyzes conjugate addition of benzyl carbamate to enones in the presence of AgOTf.
  • 2,6-Bis(2-phosphaethenyl)pyridine (PNP) complexesof Rh(I), Cu(I), and Ag(I) have been prepared and examinedby NMR and X-ray diffraction analyses. The PNP ligand adoptsκ3(P,N,P) coordination for Rh(I) and Cu(I) and κ2(P,P)coordination for Ag(I). The rhodium complex [RhCl(PNP)] incombination with AgOTf catalyzes conjugate addition of benzylcarbamate to enones.
