| Abstract
| - Résumé. L’analogie est une ressource argumentative fondamentale. Cet article propose d’abord un point sur la question des façons de dire l’analogie, dont les marqueurs explicites ne sont qu’un aspect. On considère comme fondamentales l’analogie comme processus de catégorisation, l’analogie de proportion et l’analogie structurelle. On discute la question de l’analogie structurelle et de la métaphore, qui proposent également des modélisations de l’inconnu ou du disputé au moyen d’un transfert de langage d’un domaine Source (domaine argument) sur un domaine Cible (domaine conclusion). La métaphore procède par identification instantanée, alors que l’analogie structurelle opère ce transfert explicitement et « pas à pas », ce qui la rend accessible à la critique. Les deux techniques peuvent coexister dans une même intervention.
- Abstract. Analogy is a basic argumentative device. An heterogeneous set of linguistic markers can point towards the existence of an analogical link ; metaphor is a kind, not the only one, of non-marked analogy. In this paper, we mention some basic distinctions between different forms of analogy, mainly analogy as categorization device, analogy of proportion and structural analogy. Then we focus on structural analogy and metaphor. Both are considered as processes through which the language of a Ressource domain (argument domain) is transferred to a Problematic domain (conclusion domain). Metaphor operates instantly, and structural analogy in a step by step, overt process, more open to criticism. The two techniques can coexist in the same passage.
