| Abstract
| - Résumé. Partant de textes régionalistes du début du siècle affirmant le déterminisme géographique, l’article restitue, d’abord, l’origine et le fonctionnement rhétorique de nombreux clichés du paysage en Vendée. L’auteur analyse ensuite quelques facteurs (les cadres sociopolitiques et éducatifs, les valeurs culturelles) ayant contribué a la transmission des mêmes clichés, jusque dans les réalisations touristiques actuelles.
- Abstract. The article starts out using regional texts from the early twentieth century asserting the principle of geographical determinism to reconstruct the origin and rhetorical function of numerous clichés about the Vendée landscape. The author goes on to analyse a few factors (socio-political and educational frameworks, cultural values) that have contributed to passing on these same clichés, which have found their way into current tourist information.
