| - Abstract. This text seeks to show the wealth of an original visual material: the decorated, historiated plates produced by the faience manufacture of Sarreguemines. During the singular period of German annexation of Alsace-Lorraine (1871-1918), the firm’s directors tried to renew, through distribution of plates, the foundations of a community of interest between classes by reactivating national sentiment, and at the same time, showing themselves to be in tune with their personnel. This management-level work of producing company national patriotism was an attempt to build a cohesive group - management and workers - joined together by the same love of the French language, allowing the continuity of patronage relations within a hostile context.
- Résumé. Ce texte souhaite montrer la richesse d’un matériau visuel original : la production d’assiettes à décors historiés à la faïencerie de Sarreguemines. Durant la période singulière de l’annexion allemande de l’Alsace-Lorraine (1871-1918), les directeurs s’emploient à renouveler, par le vecteur de diffusion que constituent les assiettes, les fondements d’une communauté d’intérêts entre classes par la réactivation du sentiment national, tout en s’affichant au diapason de leur personnel. Ce travail patronal de production d’un patriotisme national d’entreprise constitue une tentative de construction de la cohésion d’un groupe - patrons et ouvriers - soudé par une égale francophilie, permettant une continuité des relations de patronage dans un contexte hostile.
