| Abstract
| - Multilingual Variation and Social Styles of Communication: a Case Study of Young Turkish Migrants in Germany. This article presents a sociostylistic approach which is located within thecontext of interactive sociolinguistics. Social styles of communication aredefined as complexes of multimodal expression which participants associatewith social characteristics. Through the elaboration and usage of thesestyles, participants are able to react to the problems they encounter in theirdaily life by associating them with social characteristics by means of categorisations.The demonstration of this conception is based on a case studyof young second generation German-Turkish migrants (a group of younggirls studied collectively in different situations) who live in Germany.
- L'article présente une approche socio-stylistique communicative, qui s'inscrit dans une sociolinguistique de l'interaction. Les styles sociaux communicatifs sont définis comme des figures d'expression multi-modale auxquelles les participants associent des caractéristiques sociales. Avec l'élaboration de ces styles et leur mise en oeuvre, les participants sont susceptibles de réagir aux problèmes qu'ils rencontrent dans leur vie sociale, auxquels ils associent des caractéristiques sociales reflétées dans des catégorisations. Cette conception du style est illustrée par l'exemple des pratiques communicatives de jeunes migrants allemand-turcs vivant en Allemagne, plus particulièrement un groupe de jeunes filles qui ont été observées dans différentes circonstances, mais toujours dans le groupe.
