| - Abstract. Recruiting Modes and Professional Practices. At The Sources of Militant Sociabilities In The Docker Trade Unionism. Michel Pigenet The dockers trade was defined a long time in its adaptation to an activity governed by a system of intermittency, made of negotiated hirings in large daily harbour gatherings. What was to guarantee the control of the handling companies allowed the development of intensive practices of professional and militant sociabilities, which is the origine of a strong trade identity and a trade-union resistance to wage subordination. The article reconsiders the formation of these solidarity and analyzes the reforms engaged since the end of 1980 of the monthly-payment of the activity which contributed to weaken the former modes of sociability.

Aux sources des sociabilités militantes dans le syndicalisme docker Michel Pigenet Le métier de docker s'est longtemps défini dans son adaptation à une activité réglée autour d'un système d'intermittence, fait d'embauches négociées dans des grands rassemblements portuaires quotidiens. Ce qui devait garantir la maîtrise des entreprises de manutention a permis le développement de pratiques intensives de sociabilités professionnelles et militantes, au principe d'une identité forte de métier et d'une résistance syndicalisée à la subordination salariale. L'article revient sur la formation de ces solidarités et analyse les réformes engagées depuis la fin des années 1980 autour de la mensualisation de l'activité qui ont contribué à un affaiblissement des modes de sociabilité antérieurs.
