| - Les expériences de l’enfance, et particulièrement les difficultés rencontrées dans les relations familiales, concourent fortement aux situations de vulnérabilité au moment des transitions à l’âge adulte. Elles affectent la socialisation primaire des jeunes qui l’expérimentent et pèsent sur leur capacité à être aidés. À partir de nombreux entretiens avec des jeunes, des professionnels du social et du médico-social, l’article analyse le parcours de jeunes en situation de précarité économique et sociale ayant connu des ruptures sociales et affectives durant l’enfance. Il montre qu’au-delà de ces expériences traumatiques, les systèmes de relations, et notamment la présence ou non de systèmes relationnels protecteurs au moment du passage à l’âge adulte, influent sur leurs modalités de recours à l’aide sociale, leurs relations avec les professionnels et la construction de leurs parcours.
- The road towards to marginalisation of young people who have broken their ties with society: the importance of “significant others” when requesting social assistance. Childhood experiences and, more specifically, difficulties with family relationships, significantly contribute to situations of vulnerability during transitional periods in adulthood. Not only do these childhood experiences affect the primary socialization of young people, they also affect their ability to be helped. Based on several interviews with young people and social and medico-social professionals, this article analyses the histories of young people who have experienced emotional and social trauma during childhood and are now living in situations of economic and social uncertainty. It shows that in addition to these traumatic experiences, relational systems (including the presence or absence of protective relational systems during the transition to adulthood) influence the way young people go about seeking social assistance. This also affects their relationships with professionals and how they plan for their future.
