Abstract	By measuring as a function of temperature the Leslie thermomechnical coefficient in a compensated cholesteric mixture, we arrived at the conclusion that the Lehmann effect, namely the rotation of cholesteric droplets under the action of a temperature gradient, cannot be explained only by the Leslie thermomechanical coupling effect.
