Abstract	The use of television in teaching rheumatology has been compared with the conventional lecture using slides. An attitude survey of those taught by television showed an appreciation of it not shared by other faculties in the University. A cross-over experiment comparing the teaching of rheumatology to student nurses by slides and by blackboard has been done. This has been extended to test the value of taking notes during a lecture.
