Abstract
| - The present paper describes puerperal women's opinions on antenatal training courses. Threequarters of them felt that the courses increased their knowledge, but those who already had a high level of basic knowledge of childbirth felt that the information they received was largely out-of-date, inadequate and poorly presented. Mothers wanted more detailed information about both normal and abnormal delivery, as well as life at home after delivery. Only one-third of subjects felt that the courses had helped them to cope with pregnancy and delivery. Even fewer thought that their anxiety had lessened. At the time of childbearing, health education and primary prevention can be provided for the whole family. The public maternity health care system should take advantage of this opportunity.
