Abstract	This study proposed that the similarity between paraprofessionals and clients could serve as an important variable for predicting how paraprofessionals might react to their jobs. The results suggested that if jobs provided challenging work, a chance for personal growth, and opportunities to obtain a sense of accomplishment, workers who are similar to clients would respond by improving their job performance.
