  • Abstract. Some new aspects of the perturbative solution of the time-dependent power flow equation are investigated. The roles of the amplitude in the fibre perturbation, of the intrinsic attenuation coefficient and of the launching condition are stressed. The reaching of the steady state is studied with particular attention in order to give predictions on attenuation and bandwidth of real optical links.
