He is a political-economist with an interest in health-sector policy analysis at the global and national levels. He has worked with non-governmental organizations, research institutes and multilateral organizations in Africa, south-east Asia and the south Pacific. He has also served as a consultant to a range of UN organizations.

His current research interests lie in the health policy process. In particular, he has been exploring the role of international organizations in the health policy process in countries and low-and lower-middle income as well as aid coordination and management and its integration into policy processes at the national level. He has published on child rights, health financing, the World Bank, aid coordination, and globalization.
