John F. Ankner is an instrument scientist working at the Spallation Neutron Source at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. His research centers on the application of neutron reflectivity techniques to the study of soft matter and magnetic systems and on the development of neutron scattering instrumentation. Ankner received an AB degree in physics from Cornell University and MS and PhD degrees in physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
