| Abstract
| - En Polynésie française, il faut convenir que, sur le plan institutionnel, ce sont d’abord les concessions de l’État qui ont garanti la paix sociale. En effet, en reconnaissant une autre culture politique que la sienne, la République a accepté de corriger et d’adapter ses certitudes institutionnelles à une autre réalité. Mais cette attitude a été le fruit d’une longue maturation. L’État accepte aujourd’hui le principe d’une révision de la Constitution afin d’instaurer, notamment, un pouvoir législatif local et une discrimination positive, dispositions jusque-là contraires à la culture politique républicaine.
- State’s Concessions to an Oceanian Political Culture. One has to admit that the social peace in French Polynesia has first been ensured by the concessions made by the French State. Indeed, while acknowledging another political culture different from its own, the French Republic has agreed on mitigating and adapting its institutional certainties to another reality. The French State has accepted, today, the principle of a revision of the Constitution so as to notably institute a local legislative power : such dispositions had so far remained contrary to the French Republican political culture.
