The phase behavior of a water/mixed surfactant/n-propanol/cyclohexane system was studied at varioustemperatures of 30, 40, and 50 °C. The mixed surfactant−n-propanol ratio was kept arbitrarily constant at0.5. The mixed surfactant was a mixture of anionic sodium dodecyl sulfate and nonionic polyoxyethylenemonostearate (Myrj45) at various mole ratios. The effect of salt on the phase behavior was also studied atthose temperatures. Phase volume and optimal salinity were obtained for different molefractions of SDS inmixed systems. The water-induced percolation of water/SDS + Myrj45(1:1)/cyclohexane has been studied indetail in the presence of various alcohols as cosurfactants. The percolation threshold was obtained by usingthe sigmoidal Boltzman equation. The results have been examined in light of the appropriate scaling equation, and the activation energy for the percolation process was computed.
