Dans ce but, 176 supporters d\u2019\u00E9quipes du championnat fran\u00E7ais \u00C9lite ont \u00E9t\u00E9 sollicit\u00E9s (87 supporters suppos\u00E9s ultras et 89 traditionnels). Le mode de structuration de ces groupes a \u00E9t\u00E9 analys\u00E9 (phase 1) et, dans l\u2019ensemble, confirm\u00E9. The analysis of identity management strategies in regards with sporting performances (for example, MATing, blasting and boosting) has been essentially conducted in the North-American context. The aim of this study is to demonstrate, in the specific context of French rugby union, that identity management strategies are not only compared with team identification levels but also with the structure and the organisation of sport fans\u2019 groups\u00A0: either \u201Cultra\u201D (characterised by a desire of autonomy from the other groups of fans and associated to elitist and competitive norms applied to the supra category) or \u201Ctraditional\u201D (without any particular identity claim in relation with the other groups of fans). Therefore, we surveyed 176 fans of French elite rugby union teams (87 ultra and 89 traditional fans). The analysis of identity strategies (stage 2) shows that ultra fans (1) recognize being more incline to confront opponent fans following a defeat of their favourite team than traditional fans (that is, blasting), and to claim their link to the team than traditional fans (that is, MATing), whatever the result is. Moreover, the blasting strategy is rather used by ultra fans after a defeat of their favourite team than a victory. Limitations and future research perspectives conclude this article."@en . . . . . .
