Thirteen essential oils recovered by steam distillation from Indian herbs were analyzed for theirchemical compositions using GC and GCMS. The antifungal activity against plant and Food mold rotwere examined in vitro using poison food technique. The essential oil from cymbopogan exhibitedcontrol over all the plant and food mold rot tested. The bioactive compound in the oil and its minimuminhibitory concentration were determined using TLC bioautography.
