Abstract
| - Exploitation of the polyamine backbone as a vectorfor intracellular transport of various pharmacophores hasfocused largely on fixing the cargo molecule to one of thenitrogens in the linear chain. This communication describesthe assembly of a model aminopolyamine analogue, 6-amino-N,N12-diethylspermine, and its biological properties. Thisamino polyamine presents an additional site of attachment forcargo molecules, reduces cell growth, and achieves cellularconcentrations that are higher than those of N1,N12-diethylspermine.
