Abstract
  • Detection thresholds for NaCl and a purified isohumulones preparation did not differ between thiourea tasters and non-tasters. However, suprathreshold concentrations of isohumulones in water (but not in beer) were perceived as more intense by tasters. Females had significantly lower NaCl thresholds and tended to perceive isohumulones in water as more intense.
